Breakfast: one pink lady apple. Rode Muni to UCSF Parnassus. UCSF shuttle from Parnassus to Laurel Heights. 1-on-1 with Susie. UCSF shuttle from Laurel Heights to Parnassus with most of the group. Tuna salad sandwich full ($7) to go from Ladle and Leaf, ate during the Bridges Pharmacy meeting. Helped Rick resolve a webedit issue. Troubleshot issues on Don's laptop. Computer maintenance for the office: Chrome, Acrobat XI Pro, Windows Updates. Used Microsoft's Remote Desktop for iPad for the first time today. It worked perfectly and took only a little getting used to how the cursor and clicking worked. Couldn't figure out how to press Ctrl+Alt+End in order to select restart, so I ran shutdown -r instead. Rode Muni home, watching the end of Star Trek (2009) on my iPhone 6 Plus. Tested remote desktop on my iPad Pro from home with office computers. It worked fine. Configuring the VPN was somewhat painful. Dinner at home with Patrick: Blue Apron steaks au poivre with crispy fingerling potatoes and sautéed kale. This was our third Blue Apron meal, and every one has been perfect or nearly perfect so far. I'm very happy with it and would recommend it to others. The food quality has been excellent, particularly with the meats. The recipes are not necessarily easy to prepare. Patrick recommends reading all the way through the recipe before you begin. Dessert: pistachio brittle, Holy Gelato tiramisu gelato, shortbread cookie. More work on Patrick's new website: colors: added some of his identity red. Troubleshot why the Sonic Pace router gives me 870 down, 100 up and the T-Mobile Personal Cellspot (aka Asus TM-AC1900, aka Asus RT-AC68U) gives me 327 down, 100 up. If I can get the Cellspot to do true gigabit, I can save $9.50/month. Failed. Tried Asus support by both phone and online chat at 9:15 pm Pacific on a Tuesday and they were closed even though their hours said they should have been open (until 11 pm Pacific). Gave up for now. Chatted online briefly with quantum13.
