Vacation day. Slept in. Breakfast at home: organic oatmeal with diced, fuji apple; cinnamon; "mostly marin" wildflower honey; organic, unsweetened almond milk. House chores. Lunch: leftover breakfast burrito. Took the car back to the auto shop, had the mechanic look at the problems that occurred after the last maintenance. Home. Made a small repair with the sewing machine to my dark brown jeans from Zara. Scanned photos and archived documents. Dinner at PDDR's with Danny, Drew, Phil, and Romy. We talked about circuit parties, the perception versus reality of social change, the fit of bed sheets, recent birthdays, inappropriate behavior, pigeons, the recent experience Danny and I had at My Canh, car repairs, new cars, rituals, USCIS examinations, United States citizenship examinations, Dell versus Lenovo, recent research related to the anticipation of taking a trip and its perceived happiness as compared with the happiness obtained from material goods ("If money doesn't make you happy, then you probably aren't spending it right").
