Breakfast: partly organic 3-egg veggie omelet, 2 biscuits with butter, hot water. Marked by absentee ballot for the forthcoming election. Prepared strategy for car repairs. Downloaded some of Jerome's photos from the Hawaii trip. Washed my bike. Cleaned gunk from gear set. Tried to repair gear problems but failed due to unavailability of the correct-sized torx screwdriver. Cleaned rims thoroughly. Applied FIKS:REFLECTIVE stripes (white, 40-305) to the wheels (tire circumference 16 x 1.50 (1185 mm) and rims Kinetix Pro ETRO 16" 305x17). It took a while, but it wasn't difficult. The strips are a bit stretchy, so it's easy to stick them exactly where you want it. You can also remove and reapply them easily if needed. Lubed the chain. Troubleshot a problem with the backyard faucet, then reported the problem to the landlord. Snack: 8 ounces of organic orange juice. Late lunch: leftovers from Naan N Curry. Nap. Game night at Michael and Vernon's with Vernon, Michael, Patrick, Herman L, Andy M, Emery, Will K, Marck G, Ray F. (Scott was ill.) We played Settlers of Cataan, most of us for the first time (including Patrick and me). I had a great time. Michael and Vernon served us three kinds of Paxti's pizza and had beer available, tho I think instead most everyone drank wine that people had brought. Andy noticed for the first time that I was wearing contact lenses of color. (He called them colored lenses.) A fun night. Herman is an excellent Settlers instructor. Herman pulled from behind to win our game with Ray, me, and Emery closely following. Will won the game in the other room against Andy, Patrick, and Michael.
